Over the last few months, Lindsay Woodward Marketing has been taking part in a series of events in Rugby, as part of our ongoing dedication to supporting our local town.

The biggest project, which took place in October, was the launch of the first ever Rugby Literary Festival. Lindsay, our Marketing Director, who is also a published author, was actually the driving force behind the festival, lobbying the council and meeting with Rugby First to get the event off the ground.

Lindsay says: “I might have been the person with the vision of holding a Rugby Literary Festival, but it wouldn’t have happened without the support of the council, or the incredible work that Rugby First did. It was very much a team effort to get the inaugural event up and running.”

There are already talks of there being a Literary Festival in 2025, which is a testament to the success of the first event.

Mark, our Operations Director and in-house photographer, offered his services to do the official photography of the Literary Festival. He was then asked by Rugby First if he could do the same the following week, at the town’s Diwali Festival, providing Rugby First with top class images for their own marketing.

Mark says: “It was an honour to be asked. People were so happy to have their photos taken, and both events were packed full of talent. The events were a pleasure to photograph.”

Mark’s photos can be seen on Rugby First’s social media, and some shots were used on Warwickshire World.

Lindsay Woodward Marketing was then invited to take part in the recent Lantern Procession, just one of the many festive events that have taken place in Rugby during December.

Lindsay commented: “There were hundreds of people taking part in the procession, and it was a fantastic event to be involved with. We felt proud as a team walking as part of the parade, showcasing the lantern that we made ourselves, thanks to the free kits provided by Rugby First.

“It’s lovely to see Rugby hosting so many free of charge activities, and we have been delighted to have been involved with so many of them.”
